How to Complete a Contract Transfer
In the instance a customer sells their vehicle and the Service Contract needs to be transferred to the new owner, you will need to transfer the vehicle from one contact record to another. Follow the steps below to complete the process.
1. Verify a new contact has been created for the new vehicle owner. If the new owner does not have a contact record;
a. Go to Search
b. Click + New Lead
c. Enter New Owner in the information fields (Must enter name, address, phone number and email)
d. Click Save
2. Next, you will need to open the Contact Record the vehicle currently exists on.
a. Go to Search (Search by name, phone number, etc.)
b. Click the hyperlink under the Contacts Tab to open the Contact
3. Right click the vehicle you want to transfer, then select Transfer Ownership
4. Search new owner and select the name
5. Once Transferred, the new owner will need the policy documents recreated and then emailed/mailed
