How to Create Scripts 

 

Inline can create built in scripts that can be displayed based on the User’s role. Below is an example of what the script will look like. The far-right hand side of the screen will have an expandable view. Follow the instructions below to start utilizing this function. 

 

 

 

Create the File Name:  

  1. 1. Go to Setup > Environment > Scripting 

  1. 2. Click the + Create New Script 

  1. 3. Provide a name and description then click the checkmark to complete 

  1. 4. Click Design Button 

 

Create the Script Tree: 

  1. 1. Click Start Node, then edit pencil to update the information 

  1. 2. You’ll be directed to a pre-populated example, clear out the data that is already there, and place the text as

  2.     desired.  

  • *Node Title: This will be the name of the box at the start of the script tree 

  • *Node Content: This is the area to type the body of the message 

  • *Node Question: Enter the first question, this will be displayed on the right-hand side of Inline 

 


Create the Question Node: 

  1. When you select Question, it generates a predefined box that you can update with the following areas: 

  • *    Node Title: This is the name the box will present in the tree 

  • *    Node Content: This is the body of the script you want displayed 

  • *    Node Question: This will show up as the verbiage you’d expect for the call flow to continue the

  •      conversation 

*Question node is used when the tree flow is expected to continue and is highlighted blue in the tree



 

Create the Answer Node:  

  1. 1. When you select Answer, it generates a predefined box that you can update with the following areas: 

                    *    Node Title: This is the name the box will present in the tree 

  1. *    Node Content: This is the body of the script you want displayed 

  1. *    Node Question: This will show up as the verbiage you’d expect for the call flow to continue the

  2.      conversation 

*Answer node is used when the tree flow is expected to end and is highlighted red in the tree 

 

 


Connect Nodes in the Tree: 

  1. 1. Hover over one of the 5 available dots around the cardinal direction of the box 

  1. 2. Click the mouse and hold then drag the line to the next box 


  2.  

  1. 3. A response box will populate that asks to provide an Action Title for the line


  2. 4. Sort Order- This field dictates the order in which your answers will appear. In the screenshot above, Provided Mileage would be #1 in the sort order, Won’t give info would be #2, etc. Click Update Button to complete 

    
 

 

Note: To edit any info, click the line you wish to edit and click the Pencil, or you may delete by clicking X  



 

 

Preview Each Node: 

  1. 1. Click the Node, then play triangle to see a preview of what the script will look like. 



 

Publishing Scripts: 

  1. 1. Click “Inline Scripts” to return to the previous page 

  1. 2. To Publish the Script, click the edit pencil next to the script you want to make available and click the checkbox

  2.    "Published"


  3.  


Assigning to User Roles: 

  1. 1. Go to Setup > Security Roles> Click the Security Role you want this script active for 

  1. 2. Click the check box “Show Customer Scripting” then the Save icon at the top 

  1. 3. Repeat steps for any additional roles you want the scripts to be displayed 


  2. *Note only published scripts will be available to view 

 
 

 

Script History: 

    1. Search a contact using the magnifying glass and open the file 

    2. Under the Hamburger icon > choose Script Sessions 


 


*Note scripting history will only be available to review if the user security role has the permission "Record Script History" selected. 



Recorded script history can also be viewed by running the "Script History Log" report located under Sales Reports.

Reports > Sales Reports > Script History Log
